On March 17, 1958, Commissioner WALTER SCHMIDT, New York State Liquor Authority (NYSLA), New York City, advised SA THOMAS F. MC QUEENY that he could furnish no identifying data regarding [REDACTED], the individual who loaned large sums of money to the Power City Distributing Company, Niagara Falls, New York, which company is owned by the subject.
On March 19, 1958, there appeared an article in the Buffalo "Courier Express", Buffalo, New York, entitled "MAGADDINO Beer Firm May Be Sold." This article pointed out that the Power City Distributing Company of 200 9th Street, Niagara Falls, New York, which is operated by members of the MAGADDINO family, may be sold to the Dominion Distributing Company, 717 Elk Street, Buffalo, New York. This article further set forth that a $20,000 loan to the Power City Distributing Company "came from 'SAMUEL FRIEDMAN', Buffalo furniture dealer who figured in Buffalo's 1951 gambling investigation."
On April 2, 1958, T-15, who has furnished reliable information in the past, advised that [LARGE REDACTED PASSAGE]. PETER A. MAGADDINO is the president of the MAGADDINO Memorial Chapel, Inc., and ANTONIO MAGADDINO, who is the subject's brother and Top Hoodlum of the Buffalo Office, is the vice-president and secretary of this chapel.
On December 5, 1957, [REDACTED], Geneseo, New York Police Department, advised SA [REDACTED] that for the past several months there has been a "large scale crap game" operating in Mount Morris, New York, and this game was allegedly operated by [REDACTED], whom he believes to be identical with [REDACTED]. He further advised that this game is also backed by [REDACTED] in Mount Morris, New York. Although the spelling of the name [REDACTED] varies somewhat, it is possible that the individual [REDACTED], also from Mount Morris, New York, is identical to the individual by that same name who has an interest in a large crap game in Mount Morris, New York. According to [REDACTED], the game is operated in the basement of [REDACTED], which is located on Main Street in Mount Morris, New York.
