Continuation of May 13, 1959 information: a source stated there was close cooperation among white gamblers and numerous Negro numbers banks operating in and around Buffalo. [REDACTED] believed an organized group was more likely to control bookmaking on horse races and sports than the numbers operation.
[REDACTED] said the department had been vigorously investigating Buffalo gambling, was aware of FREDDY RANDACCIO's alleged leadership role, and was considering full-time surveillance and periodic questioning of him and his associates to disrupt gambling activity. The source said this might cause him to abandon gambling-related activities.
On April 18, 1959, a source described as an ex-convict who had furnished reliable information to the Buffalo FBI office supplied an account of acquaintances in the Niagara Falls criminal element. Multiple identities and material facts are [REDACTED]. The visible text says several persons had reportedly gone missing from Niagara Falls in recent months, and the informant believed they might have been victims of foul play. The narrative continues on the next page.
The FBI document records the source's views; it does not establish that crimes occurred. All original b6/b7C/b7D redactions remain indicated as [REDACTED].
