BU 92-61 — DETAILS — report page -2-. The subject continues to reside on Dana Drive in the Town of Lewiston, New York, and claims employment as a salesman with the Camellia Linen Supply Company, 708 East Market Street, Niagara Falls, New York. It had previously been reported that on January 14, 1959, New York State Police Sergeant JOSEPH J. BENENATI, who participated in the raid on the BARBARA residence in Apalachin, New York, on November 14, 1957, testified before the New York State Investigative Commission that he found a suitcase containing the initials “S.M.” in the automobile of JAMES V. LA DUCA, the subject's son-in-law, and memoranda in the suitcase bearing the name of STEVE MAGADDINO, suggesting the possibility that STEVE MAGADDINO had been present at the BARBARA residence on November 14, 1957. On February 8, 1959, [REDACTED], New York State Police at Vestal, New York, advised that he had searched the 1957 Lincoln bearing New York 1957 license 62JL on November 17, 1957, on the estate of JOSEPH BARBARA in Apalachin, New York; the 1957 Lincoln belonged to JAMES V. LA DUCA, the subject's son-in-law. The source recalled two suitcases in the rear of the car; one had the initials “S.M.” Inside the suitcase bearing those initials were soiled clothing, letters and receipts appearing to bear the name STEPHAN MAGADDINO; receipts included Cadillac repairs and treatments at Alden Mineral Baths. The source also recalled receipts issued by Power City Distributing Company that might have related to Cadillac repairs. The subject was formerly president of Power City Distributing Company in Niagara Falls, New York, which was then closed. Source assertions are recorded as reported; redacted identifier preserved.
