BU 92-61 — [printed report page 11] [REDACTED] has been missing from Niagara Falls for the past six years, and police officials in Niagara Falls believe he has met with some foul play, although nothing has been heard concerning him since his disappearance approximately six years ago. On January 3, 1956, T-5 advised that the numbers racket, as of January 1956, exceeded any other form of gambling in the Buffalo area. Informant stated he was of the opinion that VITO (BUCK JONES) DOMIANO was in complete control of that form of gambling in Buffalo and Lackawanna, New York. Informant further stated that in his opinion DOMIANO's real power emanates from STEVE MAGADDINO of Niagara Falls and the decision in favor of DOMIANO was made by MAGADDINO. On February 28, 1958, T-6 advised that the only “skin game” operating in Buffalo at that time was located at Busti Avenue and Virginia Place. The informant said this was a large game and believed it was being “run by” the MAGADDINOS in Niagara Falls. The informant explained that “run by” meant the game operated with their express permission and that they received a portion of the house take. The informant did not know which MAGADDINO approved the game, but conjectured it was ANTONIO MAGADDINO. The informant further alleged the MAGADDINOS had a say in the running of the Lorelei Club near the Fort Erie Race Track, Fort Erie, Ontario, where gambling took place on a large scale. [REDACTED] On May 23, 1958, [REDACTED], Ontario Provincial Police, advised that he was attempting to locate [REDACTED] MAGADDINO of Niagara Falls to interview him regarding gambling in Canada. He described an interview with a disgruntled bookmaker in Niagara Falls, Ontario, who claimed he could no longer operate in Canada because he refused to contribute $40 per month for protection.
