ROY CARLISI operated Club 97 on South Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, and reportedly attended the Apalachin meeting on November 14, 1957.
On March 10, 1958, T-2 said he had known the subject by reputation for years, and described an occasion when Magaddino had unknowingly done him a favor. The informant said that after his release from the United States Army in 1946 [VERIFY YEAR], he vacationed in Havana, Cuba, with his wife and stayed at the Hotel Nacional. After their second day the hotel moved them from a modest room to an expensive suite without increasing their charge. When asked why, hotel staff reportedly said they had noticed he was from Niagara Falls and asked whether he knew STEVE MAGADDINO. The informant learned later that the suite had been occupied by LUCKY LUCIANO, deported from the United States to Italy. The informant said he did not meet Luciano during this trip and had little contact with Magaddino.
Persons contacted during the investigation were unable to identify close associates of the subject. According to the report, he was often seen alone in Niagara Falls.
