Letter to Buffalo Re: Steve Magaddino, was. PLACES OF AMUSEMENT OR HANGOUTS FREQUENTED Under the subheading Associates, it was reported that subject never spends much time at the Power City Distributing Company. Under subheading Travel, it is reported on page 13 of referenced report that subject departs his residence around 8:30 a.m. and does not return until 4 or 5 p.m. A continuous and searching investigation should be conducted in order to obtain a complete picture of subject's daily habits and activities. TRAVEL Checks should be made of the New York State Motor Vehicle Bureau to ascertain what type and model of vehicles owned by subject and members of his family, including license plates attached thereto. It should also be determined whether subject has a valid New York State driver's license. It is noted that subject and his son-in-law make frequent trips together outside of the city of Niagara Falls. Through your informants and by other investigative techniques, you should determine the destination of these trips and purpose of these visits on the part of the subject in view of the fact it is reported he makes these trips with regularity. Investigation should be developed to determine whether subject contemplates a trip to Florida during the current winter season in order that Miami Office can be alerted to his presence in their territory since this would be a desirable time for a similar meeting to be held like recent one at Apalachin, New York, in view of the practice of many of the top hoodlums to congregate in Florida during this period. In your report it was stated that information was received to the effect that in February, 1957, that some kind of a meeting may have taken place among the hoodlum elements while subject was in Miami, Florida. If it is determined that subject is planning a trip to Florida, every effort should be made to obtain photographs of the known individuals traveling with him for possible assistance of the Miami Office. An active investigation should be instituted to determine whether such a meeting is contemplated during the current winter season at Miami, Florida. T-5, who appears in the position of securing information concerning the subject's activities, should be further developed and contacted on a regular basis for information concerning the subject's daily activities.
