On December 18, 1957, MARTIN T. CONSIDINE, Chief of Detectives, Niagara Falls Police Department, advised he had been on the Police Department for the past thirty years or more, and during this time has known the MAGADDINO family by reputation. He stated there has been a lot of hearsay and rumor regarding the activities of the subject and his brother, ANTONIO MAGADDINO, but no specific information has ever been developed by the Niagara Falls Police Department regarding either STEVE or ANTONIO MAGADDINO being implicated in any illegal activities other than gambling. He pointed out even when various gambling establishments have been raided in Niagara Falls during the past years, no direct evidence was ever obtained indicating that the MAGADDINOS had an interest in that game, although the rumors existed that the MAGADDINOS might have been interested in the particular game raided by the Police Department.
He further pointed out that during the early part of 1957, the subject and his family were vacationing in Florida. He said that [REDACTED], an attorney in Niagara Falls, who has represented the subject for a number of years, also went to Florida for a winter vacation. Chief CONSIDINE stated [REDACTED] returned to Niagara Falls in March, 1957, and upon his return to Niagara Falls, SCALZO made the remark that he had seen STEVE MAGADDINO in Florida. [REDACTED] also remarked to Chief CONSIDINE that at the insistence of STEVE MAGADDINO, he attended a party given by STEVE MAGADDINO, and it was one of the most elaborate parties he had ever attended. CONSIDINE stated he did not know where or when this party was held but feels it was in Miami Beach, Florida, during the latter part of February, 1957. He also stated that from little bits of information he could gather from various people who were in Florida during January and February, 1957, acquaintances of STEVE MAGADDINO reserved forty rooms at the Golden Nugget Motel in Miami Beach, Florida. He assumes these rooms were reserved for friends and acquaintances of STEVE MAGADDINO, and he is of the opinion that there might have been some kind of meeting at Miami Beach, Florida, at that time.
On December 6, 1957, [REDACTED] stated he had been a gambler in Niagara Falls for a number of years, and at one time had an interest in a crap game [REDACTED] in Niagara Falls. He stated his partner in this game was [REDACTED] who still resides in Niagara Falls. He pointed out that he has known the MAGADDINO [continued on next page].
