BU 92-61 — J COVER PAGE (page 272 of scan). A confidential source continued to describe an unidentified individual as 'STEVE MAGADDINO's man' in Niagara Falls and mentioned the International Hod Carriers Union from New York City. The source said he knew MAGADDINO fairly well but was unable to provide specific information on the alleged activity. Another source described STEVE MAGADDINO and his immediate relatives as a close-knit family who did not trust outsiders with knowledge of illegal activities. A source contacted again on May 13, 1959 was unable to supply further information. SAM RANGATORE reportedly resided at 611 Hyde Park Boulevard, Niagara Falls, New York. Niagara Falls Police Department records, as reported by the FBI, reflected three illegal-parking violations in 1938 and described him as 48 years of age and a 'front man' for STEVE MAGADDINO. On May 13, 1959 a source reported personally observing RANGATORE regularly walking and conversing seriously with STEVE MAGADDINO during early morning hours in the parking area of Magaddino Memorial Chapel on Niagara Street, Niagara Falls. Other names and locations are [REDACTED]. FBI assertions and source interpretations are not findings of guilt.
