Continuation: A source reported [REDACTED] instructions to handle certain matters but could give no further details.
On April 29, 1959, [REDACTED] advised that STEVE CANNAROZZO, FRED RANDACCIO, PATSY NATARELLI and other suspected numbers operators had frequented the Keith Theater at 261 Main Street, alleged by the source to be the current Buffalo numbers-racket headquarters.
Information received as early as October 1948 from the Buffalo Police Department described a loan-shark service reportedly operated by STEVE CANNAROZZO under the fictitious name Bison Supply Company, making short-term loans to gamblers, racketeers and bookmakers. A source claimed that an enforcement squad headed by CANNAROZZO would collect delinquent debts, and described the interest rates as exorbitant. These are historical allegations.
On February 5, 1959, Dun and Bradstreet records gave this background: STEVE CANNAROZZO's father, VICTOR CANNAROZZO, was born in Buffalo in 1902 and worked as steward of Buffalo Waiters Alliance Local 196 for 10 years before 1941. In 1941 VICTOR purchased an interest in Madison Cab Company. He was listed as president of Fadison [as printed] Cab Company and secretary of Auto Club Garage, which supplied gasoline and mechanical service to Madison Cab Company. The account continues.
