Office Memorandum · UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT
TO: Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation
DATE: September 20, 1954
FROM: Raymond F. Farrell, Assistant Commissioner
Investigations Division, Central Office
SUBJECT: Antonio MARTINICO aka Antonio MARTINI
The name of the above named subject was furnished an Investigator of
this Service as a possible witness in the case of Stefano Magaddino,
an alleged racketeer of Niagara Falls, New York, whose investigation
is being accorded top priority handling. The subject was recently
located in San Francisco, California. In 1940, he registered as an
alien, in that city, under the name of Antonio Martini, and was as-
signed the above alien registration number. He currently resides at
777-39th Avenue, San Francisco, California.
In attempting to locate the subject it was learned that he and one
Carlo Barbero were indicted (No. 138911) on September 15, 1921, New
York City for first-degree murder. Barbero was convicted and served
a six-year prison sentence for this offense, and the subject became
a fugitive by absconding from New York.
There is forwarded herewith a copy of New York City Police Department
fingerprint record B-28829 and F-21922 relating to the subject. That
Department has stated that this record relates to the person for whom
the murder indictment is outstanding.
As the result of an urgent request of our New York office that the subject
be tentatively identified from fingerprint records, [REDACTED]
of your Bureau unofficially verified, by comparison, that the attached
fingerprint record is identical to that contained in your records of the
subject's alien registration.
This memorandum, with attachment, is submitted for appropriate notation
of your records.
